It can achieve 4×3.125Gbps Ethernet signal input by XAUI (Auxiliary Unit Interface) interface. X2-10GB-LR is designed for 10km transmission using a vertical cavity surface emitting laser (VCSEL). To ensure that specifications are met over FDDI-grade, OM1 and OM2 fibers, the transmitter should be coupled through a mode conditioning patch cord (MCP).
